I remember how intimidated I felt the first time a friend of mine has invited me to take a yoga class with her. It was all so mysterious to me. I was sure I would be ridiculous to turn me into trying a variety of shapes and configurations. My ego and I imagined all sorts of ridiculous scenarios. As a rather shy personality, I was worried I would be committing a terrible faux pas, and stick like a sore thumb, or offend anyone. I had no idea of what was expected, what to expectfrom me, or what the proper etiquette was taking a yoga class. Looking back on the uncertainty I had, it's a wonder I ever made it through the door to my first class. Luckily I have. So many years ago and had many yoga classes. Over time, and various yoga teacher, I really fell in love with yoga and wanted to share it with everyone I could. I became a certified yoga instructor and opened my own studio, Lights of Yoga,2000th
Yoga is a wonderful practice, unlike any other form of fitness program I have ever tried. I encourage all those who find the inclusion in their lives, a yoga class ASAP. First, find a yoga teacher, you can connect with. Every teacher has to teach his own way, and though I realized that we all learn from our teachers, even those who do not believe we are well in conjunction with, in the beginning it is very important for a teacher who does not haveYou feel uncomfortable or embarrassed when you are under their care. If you found a teacher to begin your journey with yoga, here are a few points that will contribute to the passage of the first classes a little less intimidating. We use these guidelines in my yoga studio and hand them out to every new student.
Arrive on time or 5-10 minutes before the course starts. This gives you time to get comfortable and be focused. Finda spot and you unroll your yoga mat. sit quietly or lie back and relax. You can visit the following inhalation and exhalation of your breath to help you leave the cares of the day to concentrate.
Most teachers understand that sometimes too late, is inevitable. If you arrive late, please enter the studio as quietly as possible. Roll the mat before the studio and put it out quietly, if you find your place. Please do not open snap mat and aExcitement. That is rude and disruptive for those who were on time and are already centering.
Take your shoes when you entered the studio to keep the ground clean. The floor is where you will be spending the most time.
Please be quiet during the lessons. It's great to share with friends, but it can be disruptive to others an extended or speak loudly.
Remove jewelry such as bracelets and loud bells beforeClass begins.
Keep questions short, but ask if you have any questions. Everyone learns with you!
Turn off your cell phone and pager before in the studio.
Resist observe other students during their practice. First, it is rude, and it only encourages comparisons. Compare themselves with others is not that what yoga is about. There will always be differences of physical flexibility and strength, if aGroup gathered for a yoga class. Yoga is a question of your own personal flexibility, strength, awareness and focus. You can not focus inward when you're focused outwardly on others.
Do not leave class during Sivasana, very important relaxation deep end of the class. If you must leave during Sivasana, do it as quietly as possible, so classmates will not be distracted. If you must leave class before Sivasana, you forget to takeat least 5 minutes a deep relaxation at a given time on the same day of your yoga practice. It is imperative to make time for deep relaxation after a yoga practice to the benefits of breath work, body work and integrate.
Please do not wear heavy, chemically manufactured fragrance perfume oils or lotions to class. Context that some students are sensitive to these chemical products, especially when breathing deeply! Natural essential oils andessential oil products help relax some of the students and perhaps even help in facilitating the work of breathing too. This is perfectly fine as long as they smell are used in a minimal amount, enough for you. Although the essential oils are more subtle than chemically manufactured fragrance oils, and sometimes those around you are still susceptible to the flavor. Please note that considerate.
