Yoga and Contortionism

A student once asked me about the contortionists from Cirque du Soleil to do than to put a scorpion. The question was whether someone's back, should do so to be able to provide, or are the snake people have to do some in their various common spine that allows them to do this?

Contortionism from various yoga - in contortionism, the goal of posture, while in yoga, the goal is that the attitude has on our mind and the nervous systemEffect of a deeper connection with our spirit. I encourage you, completely unconcerned with the achievement of attitudes, because it does not go on yoga, it's about the ego.

Having said that, nay, almost all healthy back in a position to do deep backbends like the Scorpion. Cirque du Soleil artists often come to my classes, so I also know their bodies. Their spines are strong and healthy () without other joints, except for the occasional snake people who maypushed too hard and had hairline fractures in the spine. In fact, my teacher, was the great BKS Iyengar extremely stiff in the spine, when he began the practice of yoga.

Having worked with tens of thousands of students, I can safely say that with practice, even the hardest spikes and will be able to smooth change. Please note that it requires hard work under the trained eye of an experienced teacher, but it is doable. Also, remember that there is no need to To do the extended, unless the body will lead you to them. The reason to try to provide advanced is that, as the body supple, with practice, they are coming further and further work needs to deliver results. You and your teacher will begin the hints about when to go deeper, such as your practice progresses sense.

My suggestion is to "pose for the" only if you are ready, your teacher is very knowledgeable, and has done the teacher to go in person to the pose. If your> Teachers has practiced and refined the pose, it is more likely to know the advantages and disadvantages of the method. Please note also know that some spines may not be willing to do advanced backbends, such as Scorpion, despite years of preparation. Also patience and distance has to be maintained as part of yoga practice is to set goals, instead of there "Getting."
